Doctoral Admissions | IIITDM Kancheepuram

In addition to B.Tech and M.Tech courses, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers Ph.D program to pioneer the evolution of novel design and solution for a social cause. The Ph.D programs impart knowledge and skills towards performing high quality research in the domain of Design and Manufacturing. The motive behind this research program is to prepare students for careers in engineering education and research to develop distinguished teachers to lead and guide the future generations to lace the technological challenges ahead. The students are motivated to carry out research in key areas¹ in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Mathematics and Physics streams.

Degree Completition Requirements

As part of the regulations of the Ph.D programme, scholars shall be expected to complete around 4 courses (can vary based on the recommendations of the Doctoral Committee) and clear a comprehensive viva-voice exam during the initial stages of Ph.D programme and secure publications in journals & conferences of repute as stipulated by the Ph.D regulations of the institute in the later years and submit a thesis of the research work carried out.

Assistantship Opportunity

Registered Full time Ph.D scholars on fulfilment of the Institute norms are sanctioned HTRA² (Half Time Teaching Research Assistantship) of Rs. 31,000 per month for 1^st and 2 ^nd year and Rs. 35,000 per month for 3^rd, 4 ^th and 5^th year.
